Photographer's Comments:
I work with people of any age/gender/appearance who are looking to make photos that arn't ready-to-go modelling standards. I work best with models who are looking to contribute ideas to the photos, who are willing to experiment with the medium.
I use a variety of cameras and as traditional method as possible for developing. 99% of my stuff on film. I avoid the old Pshop as a rule of thumb but if the need calls, eh. I'm flexible and not a luddite.
For the most part, the people I have shot in the past have been close friends (for fun) professional models (for work) but I am curious to see if working with strangers would change the tone and themes ive been using. That being said, I have been in a photography lull for a while and this seems like an interesting way to get back into it.
Ideally, i want to start shooting in b/w. I develop as much as i can but want to get better at it.
As far as points of reference: nan goldin, fabio cianchetti (particularly 'the dreamers' [strangely huge influence], ryan mcginley, Matt Fry (he is a wizard i dont know how he does it) synchrodogs (to a degree..) margaret durow (who is amazing and everyone should know.) robert capa, walker evans (depression era photography en masse.) robert adams lewis baltz the becher's (new topographics etc) Guido van der Werve (top shelf, absolute favourite) dash snow (sort of ish)
